Kathleen Peroutka Marver, ATR, CSW, LPC

Kathleen, who goes by Katy, has dedicated her career to working with individuals, families, and groups to improve their lives and relationships.

She offers a safe, non-judgmental environment to explore and express emotions safely, nurture self-respect and self-care, and develop healthy coping and communication skills.

Katy comes highly skilled at facilitating cooperative resolutions and creative problem solving. She is respectful and empathetic to individual cultures and needs. She is respectful of your choices as she walks beside you on your healing journey.

With a background in group skills, Katy has opened Soul Fire, LLC, designed to hold groups up to 10 people comfortably.

Credentials

Katy is a nationally Registered Art Therapist, Certified Social Worker, and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin.

Education

Katy has Masters and a Bachelors degrees in Art Therapy from Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (2006 and 1991 respectively). In 1995, she obtained a CSW, Certified Social Work license from the state of Wisconsin, while working as a psychiatric social worker/case manager at Beloit Community Support Program. Katy obtained an LPC (licensed professional counselor) in 2024, and is able to bill some insurances.

Experience

Since 1991, Katy has practiced in clinical and community settings, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities, assisted living communities, adult day centers, clinics, elementary and middle schools, and with NAMI; National Alliance for Mental Illness. She had done extensive work with trauma survivors as a volunteer at The Center for Creative Learning and Healing Warrior Hearts in Milwaukee.

Additional

Personal interests have led the study of energy work, meditation and yoga. Katy is currently presenting some art classes and personal growth workshops at The Soul Source Restorative Community Center, where she also offers individual and community Reiki. She is interested in collaborating with other professionals and groups and will travel for an additional fee.
